Bassett Wood Farm is a well-established, family run business which is proud to be celebrating its tenth year in business. Geoff and Janet Carrington offer four-diamond standard accommodation in the bed and breakfast, whilst the delicious, organic food which is served for breakfast and in the quaint and cosy tearooms, has been recognised by the Peak Park Cuisine Group which requires all food to be sourced locally.

Janet and Geoff welcome caravanners and campers to their caravan site, which offers all modern conveniences and amenities. Bassett Wood have recently become members of the Camping and Caravanning Club. As part of our green initiative, we are encouraging all our visitors to use the Tissington Recycling Site located on the Tissington Trail.

The farm house is a charming, typical Derbyshire limestone building dating back to 1856. Situated just north of Ashbourne in the midst of the beautiful Tissington estate, Bassett Wood Farm is ideally located for a wealth of tourist attractions and spectacular walks. The village is a typical English village with duck pound, church, village hall and the historic Jacobean Manor House owned by Sir Richard FitzHerbert. The village is renowned for its six wells, which are dressed for Ascension Day and can also be viewed during the following week. There are a wealth of attractions in Tissington itself which are listed in Local attractions.

Bassett Wood Farm has a private drive, passing the historic Bowl Barrow on the way to the village, which is only 3/4 of a mile away, within easy walking or cycling distance to access the Tissington Trail, or ride on horse back from the Trekking Centre nearby. There are lots of footpaths crossing the farm to get you to Dovedale for walking and climbing in the Peak District. There are stunning views from the barrow down the valley and to the west towards Thorpe Cloud.
